The aura consists of several subtle energy fields on different levels, all of them interpenetrating each other. All the levels, from the emotional to the high-causal, have their own multi-colored fields.
An aura field has different colors on the same level, all of which have a meaning. For example, if a certain kind of emotion is present, like a feeling of friendship, then a green color will be visible in the field. Affection shows as pink, and so on. Each specific emotion has an associated color.
At the level of emotional energies, there can be many different colors. A list of thirty is given below. At the levels above abstract thinking (level 5), however, there are only five colors:
- Violet – spiritual;
- Yellow – cognitive;
- Green – interpersonal;
- Red – affective;
- Blue – moral.
At the emotional level (level 2), people normally have 8 to 15 different colors in their aura, but when a person develops to higher levels, the more negative colors disappear and the aura has five different colors on all the levels that are activated. If a person’s subtle energies have developed to the level of vision-logic (level 7), nature mysticism (level 8), low-subtle (level 9), high-subtle (level 10), low-causal (level 11) or high-causal level (level 12), then there will always be five colors (no more and no less) at that level.
Because all the subtle energies at all the levels are then of the same five colors, these different fields at different ontological levels now become strongly integrated. For example: cognitive development on level 5 which has a yellow subtle energy subfield which interacts with the yellow subtle energy subfields of other ontological levels.
From the emotional (astral) level to the low-subtle level, the aura-fields are oval/egg-shaped and the aura colors are vertically layered. However, the high-subtle, low-causal and high-causal aura-fields – if they are fully-formed (bhava samadhi) – are spherical and their colors are layered concentrically. The highest aura fields are only generated by mystics.
