Although a great amount of extrasensory perceptions has sensory qualities, the soul has no specialised senses in contrast to the physical body.
But the subtle energy fields of which the soul/ psyche exist (who are visible as aura fields), have the capacity to do visual and auditory perceptions.
These extra sensory perceptions can be done from every point within this fields. On a higher level it is possible for the soul to perceive at a great distance, by placing one’s focal point of consciousness (one’s Atman point) at a remote location. This non-local ‘zooming in’ activates a certain amount of (subtle) energy at the location. This enables the Atman point to connect itself with the subtle energies at that specific location and through these activated subtle energies it is able to perceive that location. In this case the perceptions are done at a (great) distance, but the consciousness remains in place. During an out of the body experience, consciousnesssually is at the same location as the point of perception. Although the non-physical body which is ideoplastically formed, can have all characteristics of a physical body and have eyes and ears etcetera. But it does not have functions of perception.
