(phenomenology)
Those who have had one or more out of the body experiences often speak about a tunnel. When one leaves the physical body behind, and one ascents, one travels through a tunnel. This tunnel is six meters in diameter and many kilometres long. The wall of the tunnel is formed by rhomboid shapes. These are about fifteen to forty centimetres wide and about ten to twenty-five centimetres high. These rhomboid shapes are close to the physical world, of a dull orange-red colour. Although the tunnel is often described as dark. At higher levels of existence these rhomboid shapes have also one colour but a different colour so the tunnel itself has only one particular colour. These shapes are stable and stay in place. If one tries to touch the wall of this tunnel, one doesn’t succeed in that effort because the wall itself moves sideways. The reason for this is not because the rhomboid shapes move away, they don’t. But they dissolve so in effect the distance between the wall and the mental body is always three meters. When the rhomboid shapes are about forty centimetres wide and about twenty-five centimetres high, than the three dimensional rhomboid shapes are ”cut in halve” through the middle. When the rhomboid shapes are about fifteen centimetres wide and about ten centimetres high, than the three dimensional rhomboid shapes are ”cut on the side” and not through the middle. A tunnel can be many kilometres long and end up in a landscape on a higher level of existence. The tunnel self goes to a lower realm. People that have negative experiences during an out of the body experience, don’t ascent through a tunnel but stay temporarily in the dark area where the tunnel normally passes through.
